About Us

Jonathan Meisner and Michele Armstrong

Michele and I are pretty similar; we both play hard, work hard and dream big.

We are both involved in a wide range of activities at Appalachian State—We are student-athletes, leaders on campus, engaging in organizations like Resident Student Association, Club Council, Club Sports, SGA, Appolcorps and even stepping up in organizations outside of the university. We support budding student media like The PEEL Literary Arts Magazine, as well as campus staples like The Appalachian and WASU. We embrace and encourage diversity by participating in or attending events aimed at educating students on ways of life different than our own. We love ASU and only want the best for the students.

We know what kind of commitment it takes to participate in campus organizations and we also know exactly how rewarding those experiences can be as well. That is why we are so dedicated to ensuring that students are able to continue to get involved and to really explore everything that ASU has to offer.

We want the student body to not only be more aware of the things that affect them on an individual basis, like student tuition and fees or safety and health services, but also make knowledge of involvement opportunities with campus groups more accessible to students as well.

Please take a look at our platform and let us know if there is anything you wish to see added or changed. Our goal is to represent the wishes of the student body, and that is what we intend to do as Student Body President & Vice President of ASU.

We are looking forward to making the 2009-2010 school year a time of development and change for ASU.
