Mountaineers–
It has been a crazy ride up to this point–days upon days of little or no sleep. Days of racing all over campus to meet with different groups to see what it is that we can do for the students. Too many bottles of sunkist. Too many frozen pizzas for sustenance while painting our banners to hang around campus…having no room in any of our apartments because of painting supplies, drying banners, drying tshirts and posters, etc, but finding out we made it to runoffs has made it all worth it.
We are honored that over 1,000 ASU students have put their faith in our ability to make the SGA an organization that truly is accountable to the will of the student body. We have listened to what you have said so far, and we will continue to do so, hopefully while serving as Student Body President and Vice President at Appalachian State.
We know that there are many groups that we have not been able to visit as of yet. We know there are still groups out there that feel they are not having their voices heard. We are fighting for these positions with everything that we have, and meeting more students and getting their ideas and perspectives on how to make changes at ASU is our top priority.
Please contact us at jonathanmicheleSGA@gmail.com and lets arrange a time to meet so we can get the broadest idea of what this campus needs. It doesn’t matter what time it is–before your 8 am class or at 3 in the morning (we’ll probably be up anyway) we want to hear from you!
We also want to take the time and thank everyone who has actively helped us with our campaign so far and to those silent supporters that we might not have met yet. Thank you for talking to your friends about what we want to achieve. Thank you for stopping by our table and asking us questions about what we can do for you. Thank you for the emails, the phone calls, even just the smile and wave while we are walking to class–we appreciate it all and can’t tell you how excited we are about taking on this great responsibility.
We will continue to keep you posted about what we are doing in the campaign and how you can get involved.
